Doghouse/Dollhouse

2012
A case of animal hoarding points to the significance placed on the naming of animals and how these names (or lack of names) reveal that status of animals as property, evidence, victims, individuals, or heroes. Wall text includes the list of top 100 dog names complied by a pet insurance company, the text of an email I received from the Baxter County Sheriff's office in response to my inquiry about the animal cruelty case, and a description of another artists' project of making portraits and profiles of canine rescue dogs used after Hurricane Katrina and 9/11.
